What is Internal Packaging?

Internal packaging is a vital part of the process of product packing. Appropriate internal packaging involves surrounding a product with shock absorbing material. Today there are dozens of packaging materials that are used in shock absorbing applications and they all have pros and cons. The pros and cons include cost of material, weight, performance, inventory space, appearance, disposal problems, ease of use, or environmental considerations.

They compress under impact then reset to maintain a cushion. This ability to compress and reset allows ExpandOS™ to continually protect your product through the repetitive bumps, drops, and jolts of normal shipping and handling. Whenever a package is dropped, a shockwave of energy is transmitted through the package. This shockwave can ultimately damage or fracture the product. An ideal internal package design will absorb shockwaves from the source, away from the packaged item. As an added benefit they are environmentally friendly due to the use of recycled content paperboard.
